Founded in 1936, Forsyth Barr has 25 offices across New Zealand, employing around 600 people and managing or advising on ~$23bn of clients’ investments.

What to expect on the programme?

The programme is designed to provide you a unique perspective into how the business operates, the ability to build relationships across the firm, gain insight into a wide range of career options and help you to refine your strengths and interests. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of Forsyth Barr’s divisions including:

• Equity Research

• Investment Banking

• Institutional Sales and Trading

• Retail Advisory

• ESG

• Funds Management

• Other areas, likely tailored to you: Examples could include Compliance, Finance and Administration, Innovation, Marketing.

We encourage applications from candidates from all fields of study who can demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets and hunger to learn.

Applicants should be in their final year of study. Our ideal candidates would have the following qualities:

• Well-rounded, with a very strong academic record

• Good verbal and written communication skills coupled with an ability to self-motivate, prioritise and manage your time

• Professional, positive attitude and a friendly demeanour
